50th Anniversary Weekend Plans significantly changed Sep 19 -22

A CUPE  1393 work stoppage that began at 12:45 am on Sunday, September 8 continues. The University and CUPE 1393 were unable to come to an agreement before the strike deadline. CUPE 1393 represents 281 technical, trades and professional staff at the University of Windsor

The university will do everything it can to minimize the disruption.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to refer to the Frequently Asked Questions located on the Bargaining Units Website to find out what services may be limited or discontinued during the work stoppage http://www1.uwindsor.ca/bargainingunits/.

The Bargaining Units Website will be continually updated as more information becomes available.

Thursday, September 19:

  • Daryl Hall and John Oates in concert at Caesars Windsor: 8 pm

Friday, September 20:

  • Art Display of Assumption University Presidents 11 am – 5 pm, Art Gallery of Windsor
  • The luncheon kick-off event scheduled from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm will now be held at Caesars Windsor in the Augustus Ballroom. All tickets that were purchased for this event previously scheduled in the Ambassador Auditorium will be honoured at Caesars.  Tickets are $50 each and available by contacting Mary-Ann Rennie at 519-973-7059 or mrennie@uwindsor.ca.  All proceeds go towards scholarships. This event is generously sponsored by Windsor Family Credit Union.
  • Assumption University Archival Display, 3 pm – 5 pm, Assumption University Building
  • Human Kinetics Class of ’88 Reunion, Dominion House, 5:30 pm
  • The 2013 Clark Awards Dinner scheduled for 6:30 pm will now be held at Caesars Windsor in the Augustus Ballroom. All tickets that were purchased for this event previously scheduled in the Ambassador Auditorium will be honoured at Caesars. Tickets are $75 each and available by contacting Mary-Ann Rennie at 519-973-7059 or mrennie@uwindsor.ca.
  • University Players: “Suite Surrender” Essex Hall Theatre 8 pm – 10 p.m.

  • Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Baseball Fun Day 1 pm – 5 pm, Assumption High School
  • Faculty of Law Alumni Bash at the Brewery event - 5 pm – 7 pm, Walkerville Brewery, 525 Argyle Rd., Windsor, RSVP mpilutti@uwindsor.ca
  • Human Kinetics Alumni Open House 2 pm – 4 pm, HK Building
  • Human Kinetics Recognition Event for past HK Faculty, 4 pm – 5 pm HK Building foyer
  • Faculty of Engineering Alumni Reception, 3 pm – 5 pm, Ambassador Ballroom, Holiday Inn and Suites at 1855 Huron Church Road  
  • Lancer Football Game 7 pm  (No tailgating party or live half-time show.)
  • Free 50th Anniversary Party for students, alumni and the community from 7 pm until 11 pm, in the Augustus Ballroom at Caesars Windsor, cash bar. Live music featuring Jody Raffoul with a special appearance by his son Billy Raffoul.
